Background

Technological developments such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, big data analytics, blockchain, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), and telemedicine have demonstrated their ability to improve healthcare quality, accelerate diagnosis, extend service reach to remote areas, and optimize data-driven management and decision-making systems. Furthermore, the adoption of digital technology has proven effective in strengthening disease surveillance systems, enhancing health crisis response, and improving the efficiency of pharmaceutical supply chains.

To build a truly resilient and sustainable health system, more than mere technology adoption is required. Innovation must be integrated - encompassing cross-sector collaboration, a systemic approach, and being grounded in evidence-based practices that take into account social, economic, cultural, and ethical considerations. Digital technology in the health sector must also deliver tangible, long-term impact, rather than merely short-term benefits or temporary trends.

In this context, it is essential for stakeholders - including academics, researchers, healthcare practitioners, technology developers, policymakers, international organizations, and civil society - to have a shared platform for exchanging knowledge, presenting research findings, fostering collaboration, and designing contextual strategies for impactful innovation implementation.

Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru is a private higher education institution in Riau Province, Indonesia. The institute recognizes its responsibility to host this international conference. Previous international conferences and seminars have been held in 2018 and 2023. However, due to the growing demand for digital transformation across various sectors, including healthcare and health services, Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru considers it necessary to hold this international conference and seminar.

Furthermore, the theme of this conference directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - by improving access to and quality of healthcare services through technology.
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure - by promoting the strengthening of technological innovation in the health sector.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals - by fostering multi-stakeholder and international collaboration to build a better global health system

Currently, digital health research remains limited and must be encouraged so that it becomes one of the flagship research programs for health universities. The resulting outputs can help reduce and address global health challenges both worldwide and in Indonesia. Therefore, we have chosen the theme: “Integrated Innovation and Digital Technologies Enhance Sustainable Impact of Health Systems.”

"Integrated Innovation and Digital Technologies Enchance Sustainable Impact of Health Systems"
